The Bottom Bracket will fit a pole up to 1.5 inches in Diameter only—the standard size of most umbrellas; it is not designed for larger poles.
The Rail-EZ works without the bottom bracket, but for larger umbrellas, we recommend positioning the pole to touch the deck for added support. DIY alternatives are available on our Troubleshooting Page.

The bottom clamp goes hand in hand with the top bracket. I don’t have to worry about fly away umbrellas any more. The metal used is fantastic

I think it’s a great product. My umbrella pole is not long enough to reach the lower bracket, so we had to jimmy-rig things to make it work… thus the zip tie to attach the bracket to the upright corner post. Because of the way it’s mounted, the umbrella doesn’t stand straight upright but is angled… doesn’t look great. My railing is 40” high, and I paid a lot of money for the umbrella… I thought all poles would be similar? I’m probably missing something?
